Job description: Part-Time Construction Estimator
Remote | $30–$40/hour | Flexible Schedule | Potential to Full-Time

Farrow Built is looking for a highly computer-savvy, detail-oriented Construction Estimator to join our high-performance team. In this part-time role, you’ll rely heavily on digital tools and software to quote and prepare proposals for a wide range of construction projects—shops, barns, garages, fencing, metal roofing, repairs, and maintenance. Using our proven systems, you’ll deliver fast, accurate estimates while coordinating with subcontractors as needed. This role is 100% office-based and requires strong computer fluency and fast learning ability.

Key Responsibilities

• Use advanced computer systems and tools to generate accurate project estimates

• Work within Excel, estimating platforms, and company software daily

• Learn new systems quickly and apply them with minimal oversight

• Gather pricing from subcontractors and suppliers as needed

• Compile cost data into polished proposals for internal review

• Quote projects including shops, barns, garages, fencing, and roofing

• Attend and contribute to the daily 7:00 a.m. team meeting (approx. 45 minutes)

• Maintain well-organized digital records of all estimates and proposals

• Communicate clearly with the team to ensure timely, accurate deliverables

Required Competencies

• Exceptional computer proficiency (Excel, spreadsheets, estimating software, and cloud tools)

• Ability to learn and master new software platforms quickly

• High attention to detail and data accuracy

• General knowledge of construction materials and processes

• Strong time management and task prioritization

• Clear and professional digital communication skills

• Self-motivated, adaptable, and eager to improve

• Positive, team-oriented attitude with high accountability

• Fast learner with a strong work ethic

• Ability to manage multiple digital tasks and deadlines

Education & Experience

• Prior experience in estimating or construction is helpful but not required

• Strong understanding of construction is a plus

• Most important: you must be highly computer-literate and motivated to grow

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods using a computer and sitting at a desk

• 100% office-based role with no job site or external visits required

Employment Details

• Schedule: Part-time (15–40 hours/week), flexible hours

• Mandatory: Daily 7:00 a.m. virtual/in-person meeting (~45 min)

• Wage: $30–$40/hour based on experience

• Location: On-site at 702 Mill Ave, Enderby, BC

• Reports to: Duncan Farrow, Owner

• Opportunity: Role may expand to full-time, with room for advancement into project management or other key roles as we grow
