Boat Access Only — And We Still Got the Roof On Before Winter

Some jobs sound relaxing — “boat-access cabin on Shuswap Lake” — until you realize you’re loading rolls of peel-and-stick and roofing tools into a boat in 3°C weather.
That’s exactly what our crew tackled earlier this month.
We’re putting a high-performance metal roof system on a lakeside cabin — complete with 3” Comfortboard insulation, rainscreen, new decking, and a snap-lock metal roof that’ll last for decades.

Phase 1 was getting the peel-and-stick installed before the deep freeze hits. That’s done. Phase 2 happens in the spring, when we’ll head back across the lake to finish the build — hopefully with a bit more sun this time.
Funny how it always works out this way: the best lakefront projects always seem to land on the schedule right when the water’s coldest. But that’s part of the deal — you get it done when it needs doing.

If you’re planning a re-roof or metal roof upgrade on your home, shop, or cabin, now’s the perfect time to get your quote and materials lined up for spring.
P.S. This cabin’s going to be a standout once the new snap-lock metal roofing is on next year — we’ll share some finished photos when it’s done. For now, the crew’s earned a warm-up and some hot coffee after that chilly boat ride.
