New Red Arch Roof Barn

Before and After: Barn Restoration

This barn has come a long way from its weathered state. With a vibrant new red metal roof and numerous structural upgrades, it’s looking better than ever! Here are just a few of the improvements we made:

  • Foundation Wall Replacement: We replaced the entire foundation wall on one side.

  • New Windows: Installed brand-new windows for better durability and appearance

    .

  • Updated Sliding Door: We even built a new sliding door on the back, using the original rail and sliders to keep a touch of the barn’s history.

From a worn-down structure to a beautifully restored barn, this transformation has given the building the strength to last another 40 years or more.

Behind the Scenes: Surprises in the Restoration Process

As with any restoration project, we encountered some unexpected challenges. Initially, we planned to patch the foundation and make it solid again, but we quickly discovered that the old wall was crumbling beyond repair.

This wasn’t just any foundation; it had been hand-mixed and poured decades ago—likely on a hot summer day, which left the concrete weakened. With no rebar reinforcement, the wall simply couldn’t hold up over time.

Doing It Right: A Stronger Foundation

To ensure this barn’s future, we rebuilt the foundation wall with modern, ready-mixed concrete reinforced with rebar, creating a base that will stand the test of time for generations. We approached every step of this project with care, knowing how meaningful it is to preserve such a historic structure.

Preserving the Past, Building for the Future

There’s something incredibly satisfying about restoring a piece of history like this barn. Instead of letting it deteriorate, we’ve given it new life, preserving it for years to come. To see the transformation yourself, check out the videos in our newsletter—each step shows the barn’s journey from past to present.

Thank you for joining us on this restoration journey. Projects like these keep us inspired, as we bring together the best of the past and future in structures built to last.
