Thinking About a Concrete Apron for Your Shop? Here's Why You Should

One thing I always recommend when building a shop or garage is adding a concrete apron out front. And if you're going to do it, go big—30 feet is ideal. That way, a full one-ton truck can sit entirely on the apron.

Why does this matter? A concrete apron gives you a clean, solid space to wash down equipment, spray off your truck, or just keep mud and dirt outside where it belongs. It also makes for a much smoother transition into your building and gives the whole shop a more finished look.
Even a smaller apron—four to six feet—can help knock dirt off your tires and keep things cleaner inside. But if you can fit it into your budget, I’d highly recommend going the full 30 feet. It’s one of those things you’ll appreciate every time you pull in.

Here’s what I’d suggest:
Plan for at least a small apron—it's a game changer for keeping dirt out.
If you can, go for 20 to 30 feet for a cleaner, more usable space.
Design it now so it's built right from the start.
If you’re planning a new shop or upgrade, let’s chat. We can help make sure it's done right.
