Half a Roof, No Contractor, and Winter on the Way

Last week, the phone rang with a call that immediately gave us déjà vu.
A homeowner was calling about a metal roofing project that had started… and then stopped.
Not “finished later than expected” stopped. Not “waiting on materials” stopped. Stopped as in: some shingles removed, some underlayment installed, a bit of metal put on…and then silence.
No returned calls. No updates. No contractor.
As they explained the situation, it hit us — this was the same contractor involved in another job we’d stepped into not long ago. That one had been left half done too… except that roof had already started leaking by the time we got there.
This new one hasn’t leaked yet. And that’s the key word: yet.

Anyone who lives in British Columbia knows what comes next. More rain. Wind. Cold snaps. Snow in some areas. Freeze-thaw cycles. And water finding the smallest possible opening to cause the biggest possible headache.
What makes situations like this especially frustrating for homeowners isn’t just the mess — it’s the uncertainty.
You’ve already paid someone. Your house is torn apart. You don’t know who to trust next. And winter doesn’t wait for excuses.
In this case, the original contractor had been rolling metal on site, so we’ll be doing a bit of extra work to finish things properly. More metal. More prep. More attention to detail to make sure the roof isn’t just “done,” but done right.
And that’s exactly what we’re going to do: finish it.
Because here’s something most people don’t realize until they’re forced to learn it the hard way… A half-finished roofing job is often worse than an old roof that hasn’t been touched at all. At least the old roof was complete.

If This Sounds Uncomfortably Familiar…
If you’re reading this and thinking:
“Our project stalled…”
“We can’t get a call back…”
“They started, but never really finished…”
You’re not alone — and you’re not stuck.
We have no problem taking over a project that someone else walked away from. We’ll come take a look, assess what’s been done, what needs to be corrected, and what it will take to get your roof finished before small problems turn into expensive ones.
No pressure. No obligation. Just a straight answer and a plan to get it done.
If you need help finishing a roofing project that’s been left hanging, give us a call or send us a message. We’ll take a look and tell you exactly where you stand.
Better to deal with it now — than after winter has its say.
