We often get asked, “Are your buildings rodent-proof?” The short answer is yes, and they’re also easy to make rodent-proof with a few design choices.

If your building has a concrete floor, rodent-proofing is straightforward. Concrete provides a solid barrier that prevents rodents from digging or sneaking in.
For buildings without a concrete floor, it’s a bit trickier but still possible. In these cases, we recommend a full concrete foundation with edges designed to seal tightly with the doors. This approach creates a secure perimeter that keeps rodents out effectively.
One important tip: avoid sliding barn doors if you’re serious about rodent-proofing (or controlling temperature). Sliding doors have large gaps that can let in rodents, along with unwanted drafts and heat loss. If rodent-proofing is a priority, we suggest hinged doors designed to seal tightly against the frame and any concrete foundation.
