The Real Cost of “Cheap and Fast” – Don’t Let This Happen to You

I was talking with someone recently—someone we’ve done quite a bit of work for over the years.
They’d just completed a big expansion and renovation on their barns. They had mentioned it to us in passing, but nothing serious. Instead, they went with some friends who said they could start right away and do it for cheap.
That decision ended up costing them.
The project dragged out for nearly two years. The work was sloppy. They were frustrated. And in the middle of it all, they told me they actually said to each other:
“We should’ve just gone with Farrow Built.”

Now, sure, I’m glad they still see the value we bring. But I’d much rather they had chosen us from the start. Because it pains me to see anyone stuck with poor work and wasted time—especially when we could’ve spared them the mess.

Here’s the kicker: Even though those other guys started earlier, we would’ve finished sooner. And better. And ultimately for less, because they’d be using it already—not paying to fix what shouldn’t have been broken.
Here’s the bottom line: If it sounds too good to be true—cheap price, fast start—it usually is. You’ll pay for it in delays, do-overs, and stress. Guaranteed.
Don’t let that be your story. If you're planning a build or renovation, talk to us first—even if we can’t start tomorrow. Because when we do start, we get it done right. The first time.
If you’re weighing your options right now, just remember this: “Cheap and fast” turned out to be slow and expensive for them. Let’s make sure your project goes the way it should—on track, on time, and built to last.
