I’m excited to share a recent project we completed near Armstrong, B.C., where we turned a hay shed in dire need of repair into a structure that looks and functions like new—all while saving our client a significant amount of money.

Initially, our client reached out to us with plans to tear down his aging 50x80 hay shed and replace it with a smaller, new build. After taking a closer look, I saw an opportunity to save him both time and money by suggesting a different approach. Instead of tearing down the existing structure, I proposed a complete restoration, bringing the shed back to like-new condition.

Here’s what we did:
Replaced all the rotten posts with a screw pile foundation and brand-new posts, ensuring a strong and secure base.
Installed new roof metal to replace the deteriorated and loose metal that was on the verge of failure.
Added gable metal to the ends and brought new metal down five feet along the sides for added durability.
Integrated a shade cloth on one side for improved protection and ventilation.
The result? A hay shed that looks like brand new—and at a fraction of the cost. By choosing to restore instead of rebuild, our client saved over $80,000!
Here’s what it looked like before we started on it! What a difference!
